Memories of Jay

We met Jay in the 50's when he was pastor at the Church in Hannibal area. I was very young and in high school yet. Jay would invite all of us young people over all the time no matter what time it was. We interupted him writing his sermons, many times it was for the next day because it seems we always visited with him on the weekends. He would go bowling with us to Medford. He would always tell us to come and he would go with us anytime. We were of different religions, but that never ever mattered to him. He welcomed all of us with open arms. He asked us to come on Christmas to his service that he was holding in Jump River and we all did. The very best thing is that he married Merle and I in February of 1960. I now am a member of Crossroads Presbyterian church in Mequon. This came about because of Jay and his open arms and heart to anyone. He was one of the best things that ever happened in our lives. We thank you Jay.
