JACKSONVILLE: A memorial service for Major General, Fred H. Casey, 76, AL Army National Guard, Ret., will be Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Army National Guard Training Site Chapel with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the Training Site Chapel, Sunday from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service. Mr. Casey died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at his residence.

Major General Casey is survived by two daughters, Angie Casey Miller and her husband Jeff of Dothan, AL and Kim Lan Casey and her husband David Nurser of Annapolis, MD; three sons, Taylor Casey and his wife Tracy of Jacksonville, Fain E. Casey and Hugh W. Casey both of Dothan; eight grandchildren, Anna Kate and Walton Delavan, Katherine and Zach Casey, Leigh Ann, Libby and Mac Casey, and Aaron Nurser; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Casey earned his Master’s degree from Jacksonville State University and worked as an Education Specialist at the Ft. McClellan MP School for more than thirty years. He retired from the Alabama Army National Guard after more than thirty years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, to whom he was married for 51 years.
