Juliana Laatman, 65, of Binghamton went home to her Lord on Friday, March 9, 2007. She was predeceased by; her father and mother, John En and Maria Laagrong; two brothers, John Tony Sweyog and Tony Fitheg; niece, Cathy Laatman; two sons, Paul Giltimag and James Gootman. She is survived by; her beloved husband of over 40 years, Peter Gootman; her daughter Joanne Gumediiy, and her children, Jorden Gumediiy, Zina Gumediiy, Jacob Gumediiy, Julie Waayan, Jennifer Waayan, Jacklin Besina, and Jason Besina all of Endicott; her son, Ernie Gimen and his daughter, Stephinie Gimen, Guam; daughter and son-in-law, Clarrissa and Philip Yorlang and their children, Tina Tinmad, Michael Gogeg, James Giltimag, Peter Paul Gootman, Eliegh Yorlang, Junior Yorlang, Mark Yorlang, Christina Yorlang, Mandy Yorlang, Jeffry yorlang, and Brian Yorlang all of WA; her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Sue Libyan and their children, Rachel Laatman Libyan and Mackayla Libyan, HI; her daughter Lucy Gootman and son-in-law, Jessey Sudog and their children, Travis, Kyle, and Azariah Sudog, HI; daughter Catherine Gootman and her son, Benjamin Gootman, Binghamton; daughter and son-in-law, Martina and Kevin T. Byrnes and their children, Linda Gootman, Caitlin Byrnes, Kevin P Byrnes, Evelyn Yvonne Byrnes, all of Binghamton; sister and brother-in-law, Bernie and Glen Lasher; Ruth Lasher, Janet Lasher, Kanrad Lasher; Pam Lasher and Mike Schilling and their children, Christina Schilling, Vanessa Schilling, Kyla Rose Schilling and Edwin Lasher; family members still residing in Yap, Micronesia are; brother and sister-in-law, Leo Thineyong and Alfanso Run Pin and their children, Leo thineyong and Lourdes Thineyong of Binghamton; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa Ow and John Thow and their children, Peter Gumdag, Angie Laatman, John Thow, Ginia Gemediiy, Johnny Thow, Berrangun Laatman all of Yap; also in Yap, sister Maria Petra Mingngil and her children, Lena Luklee, Joey Bugmed, and in Palua, Stephnie Minigil; her deceased brother John Tony Sweyog’s children, Justina Laagrong, Mary Mingil, and En Suweyog; her deceased brother Tony Fitheg’s children, Steven En, John Ennow, Juliana Laagrong, and Francis Waayan;
Funeral Mass will be offered 10:00 am Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at St. Andrew’s Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Meagher officiating. The family will welcome friends Monday March 12, 2007 from 5 to 7 pm at the Savage Funeral Home 338-344 Conklin Ave Binghamton. Burial will take place in the family plot in Yap, Micronesia.
