Condolence: Well, all we can say is it wasn't easy living across the street from a district fire chief on Hillside Drive! When it came to spotting fire hazards, (and "yippin' dogs") Tom was tough. He was always lecturing us about fire hazards like keeping a gasoline can in the garage. Of course we never listened. So, the time we caught the chimney on fire, I thought we were in deep with the old chief--especially since he was on duty that night. So, there we were at midnight, hosing down the roof of the house, hoping Jean (who was a light sleeper) didn't look out the window and call the fire department. To make matters worse, some of the sparks from the chimney ended up in the woodpile next to the house. Lucky for us, we put out the blaze because we would never have lived it down if we'd had to call in the chief for backup! We'll miss you, Tom!

Condolence: Dear Jean, Sandi, Tommy, Danny, and families,
I'm so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I have so many good memories of Tom and all of you over the years of growing up on Hillside. How did he play ping-pong with the hole in that paddle? Thank you all he will be missed. With sincere sympathy, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Condolence From: Sharon Drahn
Condolence: Jean, Sandi, Tommy and Danny and families,
This week you lost a wonderful "full of life" dad and husband and the Harris family lost a true, true friend who was always there for us through the good times and bad especially when we lost mother in '71. His smile helped us cope when times were tough. Oh, the happy childhood memories I have with the Phelps family. I will never forget how he called me "lunch bucket" and the many wonderful sleepovers and birthday parties held on Woodside Dr. You are our family and today and always you are in our thoughts and prayers. I will see you on Saturday and hopefully we can keep in touch as the days pass. Love to you all, Sharon and Don Drahn
