Obituary for Georgia Lucille Phillips (Sims Blevins)

John 3:16
For God so loved the world he have his only begotten son; that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Georgia L. Phillips, 86, of Johnson City, went to be with her Lord and Savior from her residence, July 29, 2011, after a lengthy illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Bunia Blevins Banks and Robert Lee Sims.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, of 51 years, John Wesley Phillips; one brother, Bobby Jack Sims; two sisters, Jeanette Banks Webb, and Sue Bowman, all of Elizabethton.
She is survived by her four sons, Bobby G. Phillips and wife Sue of Telford, Wayne Phillips of Johnson City, Blaine Phillips and wife Shelia of Johnson City, and Carroll Phillips and wife Mildred of Jonesboro; two daughters Lee Kinley and husband Lloyd of Johnson City and Rhonda Phillips of Jonesboro; six grandsons, Bobby B. Phillips and wife Stacie of Germany, Shane Kinley and wife Teresa of Johnson City, Shannon Kinley and wife Tonya of Johnson City, Shawn Godsey of Jonesboro, and Blaine Phillips and wife Amber of Johnson City; one step grandson Eddie Robinette and wife Shannon; two granddaughters, Lisa and Ashley Phillips, both of Johnson City; five great grandchildren, Kali Phillips of Germany, Cheyenne Kinley of Johnson City, Sierra Kinley of Johnson City, Hannah Kinley of Johnson City, Ava Phillips of Johnson City; three step grandchildren, McKenzie, Gracie, and Eli Robinette; three sisters, Ivalee Malone of Elizabethton, Joann Ritchie and husband Fred of Elizabethton, and Virginia Hiledenbrand of Elizabethton; one brother Nelse Banks and wife Trudy Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; a special sister-in-law Dean Chambers; and a special brother-in-law, Kyle Webb.

The family will receive friends, Monday, August 1, 2011, from 6-8pm, at Morris Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mrs. Phillip’s home, 140 Faith Circle, Johnson City. Services will follow at 8pm at Morris Baker Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Revs. John Stevens and Mike Lusk will officiate. Burial will be held, Tuesday, August 2, 2011, 2pm, at the VA Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be; Bobby B. Phillips, Shane Kinley, Shannon Kinley, Shawn Godsey, Blaine Phillips Jr., David Abel, Will Cole, and Robert Crigger. Music will be provided by Earl and Ruthie Rose and Robert Lee Crigger.
