Samuel Arthur  Boxberger
Samuel Arthur Boxberger passed away peacefully on October 14, 2 008 at Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, California.He was the son of Sam and Lydia Boxberger of Longmont, CO. Samuel was born in Fort Collins, CO on September 7, 1938. He attended school at Loveland and Johnstown. He graduated from Johnstown High School and attended college in Greeley.Sam worked as a chemist at the M.S.G. Plant in Johnstown. He later worked as a chemist on the missile sites North of Greeley, in Wyoming, and in Kansas. He later went to Vandenberg Air Base in California, where he worked on satellites. Later he went to work for Hughes and became a Development Engineer Specialist Propulsion . His work place was Space and Communications Group at Taft, California. Samuel took part in launching satellites from Florida, French Giena South America – Japan Baikonur Russia and China – also had worked on the Survayor.Samuel enjoyed helping his parents on the farm when visiting them . He also enjoyed Nascar races and Indi 500 races. Samuel also served in the National Guard for four years.His survivors include a son, Kevin of Phoenix, AZ; his parents, Sam and Lydia Boxberger of Longmont; a sister, Jeannette Louisa Ord and husband Jerry; nieces, Justina Ord and Jonae Armstrong and husband Ray, and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Ft. Collins, CO. 80525
