M. Ruth Getic, 89, of Westminister Woods, Huntingdon formerly of Marklesburg passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Westminister Woods. She was born on June 24, 1921 in Saxton, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Reuben and Sarah (Hoover) Walter. On May 14, 1940 in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania; she married Charles E. Getic, he preceded her in death on January 3, 2000.

She is survived by two children:
Freda Ruth Highfield, OH
Thomas Earl Getic married to Elaine (Miner), WA

Tina married to Keith Broyles, FL

Catherine Getic, WA

One Great Granddaughter:
Stephanie Hays
One Great Great Grandson:
Jaeden Melven

She was preceded in death by the following family:

Siblings: Marvin, Raymond, Jerry, Reuben Ellwood, Dorthea, Elsie and Lorraine

Mrs. Getic was of the Methodist Faith.

She was a homemaker most of her life, enjoying sewing, quilting and attending the quilting clubs.
Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 2-3 P.M.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor George “Buddy” Baird officiating.
Burial will be held privately in Grandview Cemetery, Saxton.
