Obituary for Joseph Arnold Pruett

PRUETT

Anniston â€" A gathering for friends and family for Joseph Arnold Pruett, age 76, will be held on, Monday, April 23, 2007 from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel. Mr. Pruett died Saturday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his daughters Kelly Beane and husband Randy, Oxford; Kimberly Guess, Guntersville, Al; Sister Joan Coleman, Anniston; Brother Billy Wern Pruett, Anniston, Al; three Grandsons Charley Guess, Casey Guess and Dakota Beane; and Caregiver Fannie Groce; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pruett played semi-pro baseball for the Yankees organization and played for the Birmingham Barons. He coached baseball for the Anniston Pony League for 17 years. Mr. Pruett was a star baseball and football player at Anniston High School. He served in the Army as a Military Policeman and fought in the Korean War. Mr. Pruett retired from AT&T with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Swinging Stars Square Dancers & Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Pruett was instrumental in the building of Trinity Christian Academy and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Pruett’s most noted accomplishment was being a wonderful father, grandfather and friend.

Mr. Pruett was preceded in death by Mother Lida Pruett; father Sion A. Pruett Sr.; Sister Elizabeth Bordelon and two brothers James Sisk and S.A Pruett II.
