Rose (aloi)  Vendetti
Rose (Aloi) Vendetti, 85, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Leonard Vendetti, died peacefully at home, Saturday, (March 4, 2006), with her family by her side. She was born December 12, 1920 in Sicily, Italy and was the daughter of the late Paul and Concetta (Terranova) Aloi. Rose was a waitress at the former Maple Hill Restaurant for over 30 years and also worked for the Travelers Insurance Co. reluctantly retiring in 1994 at the age of 74. She was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church. "Rosie," "Grandma Rose", "Mommy", "Old Lady" was very active at various senior centers and she was a member of the South End Seniors, the South West Parkville Seniors, and the Barry Square Seniors and she volunteered at the Auxiliary store at Hartford Hospital. She was an avid reader, excellent cook, loving Mom, grandmother and friend, and she loved bingo, playing cards, good food, bargains, Jeopardy, gardening and camping at Roaring Brook, and having her family together. She leaves her loving sons, Danny, and Robert and his daughter Crystal, daughters, Paula "PJ" and her husband Dan O'Connell and their children Sarah and Stephanie, Ann and her husband Richard Tyszka and their children, Shelby and Richard, a brother Sal and his family, Connie, Frank, Betty, Damon, Paul, Marsha, Carla and many other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Tina for taking such wonderful care of my dear brother Sal. A special love to her dear friend Sandy Giuliano and her family, her loving neighbor Connie V., and Marguarite B., the Garbecks, Frannie C., Virginia, Prete family, Aunt Pat, Jim and Enza O'Connell, Dr. Pinou, Dr. Hall and the gals at the Auxiliary store of Hartford Hospital where Rose volunteered until her last week of life. Rose is with her parents and late friends, Rose Dondero and Lena Prete and countless others. We'll miss you Mommy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. There are no calling hours. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
