Mr. Bobby Rex Waters of Dothan died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at his residence. He was 71.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, July 15, 2009. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main St., Suite 3, Dothan, AL. 36301.

Mr. Waters was born October 20, 1937 in Slocomb, Alabama, the son of the late Grady Rosco Waters and Nada Virginia Bolin Waters. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He loved to read the Bible and fish, and was a long time employee of Smith Inc.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Fondren and a step-son, Tillman Waters.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda Waters of Dothan; step-daughter, Joann Jackson of Dothan; step-sons, Edward Waters and his wife, Sue of Dothan; Brett Kirkland and his wife, Carol of Albany, GA.; sisters, Betty Morris of Slocomb; Pat Schofield and her husband, Gerald of York, S.C.; Sonya Davis and her husband, Jimmy of Slocomb, brother, Allen Waters and his wife, Brenda of Pace, FL; 3 step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
