Mr. Clyde H. Robinson, 79, 1905 Waters Edge Drive, Johnson City, died Monday February 16, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Robinson was a native of Mars Hill, North Carolina who had lived in Johnson City since 1999. He was the son of the late Ernest B. and Georgia McLaughlin Robinson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Robinson in 1995; thee brothers, Leonard, James and Hiram Robinson; one sister, Athlene Burleson. Mr. Robinson was a retired U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Survivors include: two brothers, Paul Robinson of Ashville, North Carolina and Kermit Robinson of Weaverville, North Carolina; three sisters, Robbie Lee Farmer of Johnson City, Julia Farmer of Mars Hill, North Carolina and Jessie Buckner of Burnsville, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. The graveside service for Clyde H. Robinson will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, February 19, 2009 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Chaplain William Prestley will officiate. The family request no flowers. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 208 Sunset Drive, Johnson City, Tn. 37604.
