Dear Van Kampen family, Our condolences to you on the loss of your mother. For many years, we travelled to your farm to buy our very fresh Thanksgiving turkey. By phone, when ordering, your mom would always ask what general weight we preferred, and by golly, when we picked up our turkey, it was always correct!! Our two youngest children have fond memories of driving into the farm, amid scattering ducks. The smell was distinctive to that of hogs and poultry, but the boys never minded. They knew they could look forward to a cold can of pop, which your mom and/or dad made sure they received before leaving. It was such a treat to go to a farm so close to home; we were very sad when the turkey farming came to an end. Thank you to your family for creating such great Thanksgiving memories for ours.
