Funeral services for Mr. Willie E. Smedley, 84 ,of Ferriday, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Bro Richard Cullum officating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Natchez, Ms under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday

Mr. Smedley was born June 25, 1924 in Hope, AR and passed away Thursday December 18, 2008 at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. He was a resident of Ferriday, Retired from International Paper Co. after 30 years of service and a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church.

He was preceded in Death by:

Son-William and his wife Helen Smedley of Ferriday, La.
Stepdaughter-June and her husband Jim Hines of Paris, Texas
Stepdaughter-Jeannie Carroll of China
Stepson-Edwin Carroll of Vidalia, La.
Sister-Mildred Francis of Ferriday, La.
Sister-Annie Ruth Greenlee of Dallas, Texas
Sister-Martha Greenlee of Dallas, Texas
Sister-Patricia Harris of Vidalia, La.
He was also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren .

The Pallbearers will be Mark Gillespie, Eddie Tarver, Joseph Tarver, Jake Smedley, Joel Smedley, Chris Carroll and Michael Ennis

The Honorary Pallbearers will be David Gillespie, John Tarver, Justin Tarver and Billy Passona

The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2008.
