Obituary for Guy S. Kellogg

Our Dad, Guy Samuel Kellogg returned home and to his beloved wife and best friend, Susie, on November 30, 2007. He had been residing at the Masonic Pathways in Alma, Michigan after living in the Battle Creek area since the late fifties.
Dad was born in Lovells Township in Crawford County, Michigan, May 1, 1923 the youngest of the 17 children of James Edward and Bessie (Hyslop) Kellogg. He attended the Kellogg School and graduated from Frederic High School in 1941, where he met his future wife, our mom, Doris (Susie) Leng of Frederic. They celebrated 61 years of wedded joy before her death in 2006.
As the United States entered World War II, dad enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served in England, North Africa, Tunisia, and Sicily for the duration. Obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant he was a Crew Chief of a B-17 Fighting Fortress group.
After attending Ferris State College he was employed for over 30 years at United Steel and Wire Company in Battle Creek as their Tool and Die Designer, retiring in 1984.
He was a Past Master and Lifetime Member of Bedford Masonic Lodge, F & A M, and a member of Bedford O.E.S. Our Dad was also a member of Westlake Presbyterian Church where he devoted hours of pleasurable work on the stained glass project.
Dad leaves behind to miss him but to share wonderful memories, his two daughters, Cheryl (Frank) Dadam of Green Bay, and Allyn (Eric) Schwarzkopf of East Lansing, and grandchildren Scott and Lora Dadam, Zack Schwarzkopf and Emily Schwarzkopf and Great Grand Children, Elijah and Jairus Dadam.
A grave side service will be performed in the spring at the Lovells Township cemetery. At that time family and friends will gather to honor the memory of this most kind and compassionate gentleman at the treasured family home on the North Branch of the AuSable River,
