The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Matthew Lloyd can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Matthew William Lloyd

Matthew William Lloyd
Surrounded by the ones he spent a lifetime trying to protect, Matthew William Lloyd sailed home May 24, 2013. Although our hearts are breaking and we will struggle to deal with the void this has left in our lives, his final lesson of courage was taught to us as he left this world with dignity and respect at home, just as he had wished.

His wife of 57 years Elsie (Doucette) Lloyd; children Brian (Krista) Lloyd, Theresa (Howard) Wakem, Patricia (Alan Giddings) Bearss, Jennifer (David) Switzer, grandchildren; Loreena (Mitch), Shyanna (Chris), Adam, Jessica, Vandie, Amber (Kody), Ashley (Colin), Sam, Curtis, Matthew, Zachary, Amy, Shaun and his great-grandchildren will miss his love and support.

At Matthew’s request a private funeral will be held. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 196806 19th Line Uniondale, the home of Jennifer and Dave Switzer, starting at 3 p.m. The family would like to invite family and friends to join them in this celebration.

Donations to the London Sick Kids Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
