Vera (Boyd) Muraro
(nee VanGampler)

Age 95, of Joliet, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. She was born July 23, 1915 in Wilmington, IL. to the late Julius and Ida (nee Green) VanGampler. Surviving are her children, Thomas E. Boyd, Verna Jean (Thomas) Knorr, Malcolm (Rose) Boyd, Richard (Lynn) Boyd and Ida Louise Muraro. Vera was a proud grandmother of four generations of grandchildren, recently becoming a great-great-great grandmother. She is also survived by two sisters, Norman (late Walter) Fang and Mary (Harry) Fox as well as numerous nieces nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husbands, William Boyd (1947) and Eugene J. Muraro (1991); children, Anna Mae (Arthur) Wallace, Lillias Carnes and William Boyd Jr. and six grandchildren. Vera had a strong work ethic and was employed at the Joliet Arsenal (APSA), the Seneca Shipyards, Bertha Brown, and finally Crawford Bus Service, retiring a month shy of her 81st birthday, after 31 years as a bus driver. She will fondly be remembered by her family as a very strong willed lady with great resolve. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Loy Schlote officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to her family would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the services begin at:
