Obituary for James C. "Jim" Ozee

James C. "Jim"  Ozee
James (Jim) C. Ozee, 85, of Fort Collins, passed away at home on May 28. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Allnutt Drake Chapel, preceded by a visitation from Noon until 1:30 p.m. Interment, with military honors, will be on June 5 at Marrowbone Twp, Bethany, IL.
Jim was born on October 24, 1926, in Bowlesville Twp, IL, to Gordon and Beulah (Hatcher) Ozee. He attended high school in Bethany, and married Evelyn Sutton in Bethany on January 11, 1950. Jim served in the Army Air Corps in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater and was discharged in December of 1946. Jim and Evelyn moved from Decatur, IL, to Fort Collins in 1972. Jim was a salesman for farm and heavy construction equipment; and was an equipment operator for C.D.O.T. In his later years, Jim was an avid golfer—particularly at Cattail Creek in Loveland—and enjoyed bowling, and a good poker game. He was previously active in the B.P.O.Elks and VFW.
Evelyn passed away in 2004. Jim is survived by three children: Dennis (Barbara) Ozee of Windsor, CO; Angie Healy of Ludington, MI; and Jody (Dave) Lenort of Fort Collins, CO. Jim also leaves a legacy in his grandchildren: Danny Healy, Blake Healy, Anthony Lenort, Trey Ozee, and step-grandson Joe Karlak; granddaughters Karlee Lenort, Cassandra Ozee, and Amanda Ozee; and great-grandchildren Alexa Lenort, Mason Healy, Reegan Healy, and Stella Healy.
Jim is also survived by three brothers: Bud, of Shelbyville, IL; Larry, of Arcola, IL; and Roger, of Bethany, IL; and three sisters: Mona Lesley, of Bethany, IL; Glenda Clark of Findlay, IL; and Doris Scott of Shelbyville, IL. Jim was preceded in death by brothers Bob, Jack and Floyd Gene.
