To help with the World War II effort she worked at a bomber plant. She married Calvin H. McFall and from this union came the birth of four children.
Bessie worked for the Ford Motor Company for more than thirty-two years as a factory worker. She was a member of the United Auto Workers and was employed at several plants including: Rawsonville, Monroe, and Saline prior to her retirement. After her retirement Bessie worked ten years for Contract Service Group at the Mercy Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center on Stewart Road serving as crew leader.
Bessie was one in a million. She liked to be in control, and she was a woman who knew what she wanted and how to accomplish her goals. It was said that she had ten of everything. Bessie was very loved and respected by her family and friends.
Bessie enjoyed quilting, hook latching, embroidery, and ceramics. She loved playing solitary and grocery shopping. She was a wonderful wife and mother and a feisty grandmother. She loved with her whole heart but wasn’t afraid to rule with a firm hand.
