Obituary for James David Putnam

James David Putnam
Mr. James David Putnam, age 63, of Putnam Place, Frankfort, went to the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 with his loving family at his side. Jim was born on November 6, 1943 in Frankfort, son of the late Sidney and Mildred (Lindsay) Putnam, and resided in this village all his life. He graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler Central School and attended Mohawk Valley Community College. On August 3, 1968, he was united in marriage with the former Thelma Puleo in Herkimer. Today marks their 39th wedding anniversary. Jim was a wonderful family man and he loved his wife and children with unceasing devotion. His first love, however, was the Lord, and he served Him with all of his might. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Little Falls. In spite of his disability of 44 years, he lived life to the fullest, getting married, always driving himself, hunting, fishing, and attending sporting events. Jim was a member of the NFL CNY Touchdown Club and the Ilion Fish and Game Club. His paralysis never held him back and he never complained! He loved people in general and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He truly was an inspiration to all who knew him. Jim leaves his beloved wife, Thelma; and loving children, James David Putnam, II and wife, Wendy of Frankfort; Christine Coniguliaro and husband Joseph of Clayville; his brothers Sidney Putnam and Joyce of Berkley, CA, Darwin Putnam and Patti of Frankfort, and Donald Putnam & Pat of Whitesboro; and sisters Barbara Maslyn of Clifton Springs, and Beverly Forbes and Carl of Frankfort. He also leaves behind his five adoring grandchildren: James David Putnam, III, Joshua Charles Putnam, Stream Coniguliaro, Quinn Coniguliaro and Benjamin Coniguliaro. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, including Amelia and Everett ?Bud? Trombley, Florence and Don Lowe and Arthur Bunce. He was predeceased by his parents and in-laws, including his sister-in-law, Evelyn Bunce and brother-in-law, Reverend Peter Puleo. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, between Frankfort and Ilion (894-8000), on Friday, August 3, 2007 from 4:00 ? 8:00 pm. Jim?s funeral will commence on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:00 am at Assembly of God Church, Jefferson Street, Little Falls, with Pastor Joseph Chamberlin officiating. Procession will follow to Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Assembly of God Church, Jefferson Street, Little Falls, NY 13365; envelopes will be available at the funeral home
