Mr. Robert Eugene “Buddy” McGaughey, I, age 68, of Dupont, Indiana, entered this life on October 8, 1938, in Waddy, Kentucky, the son of John McGaughey & Edith Gordon Hayes, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in Kentucky, and moved to the Dupont Community when he was fifteen years old. He was united in marriage on April 14, 1961, in Waddy, Kentucky, to Marie Bear, to this union arrived one daughter & two sons to bless their home. He retired from the Shelley Company in Thorneville, Ohio as the plant manager, having worked there for 19 years. He had farmed all of his life and had worked for Mei Link Steel & Safe Company in Toledo, Ohio as a truck driver. He had owned & operated the B & M Service Station in Dupont in the 1970’s. He was a member of the Dupont Masonic Lodge #419 F & AM, where he had served as Junior & Senior Warden; The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis & The Murat Shrine; and the First Baptist Church of Dupont. In his spare time he enjoyed playing Rook & fishing. Buddy died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at his residence near Dupont, Indiana.

Buddy will be missed by his daughter: Melissa Chatham of Dupont, Indiana; his sons: Jerry McGaughey & his wife: Robin & Robert McGaughey & his wife: Bonnie all of Dupont, Indiana; his half brothers: Larry McGaughey of Middletown, Kentucky; Floyd McGaughey of Cincinnati, Ohio; Jim Hayes of Cincinnati, Ohio; George Hayes of Phoenix, Arizona; Bernard Hayes of Cincinnati, Ohio; Ronnie Hayes of Cincinnati, Ohio; his half sisters: Peggy McGaughey of Middletown, Kentucky; Carol Richardson of Shelby, North Carolina; Becky Jones of Middletown, Kentucky; Irene Hogue of Cincinnati, Ohio; his grandchildren: Alicia Chatham, Mallory, Robert, III, Austin, Cody, Jared, & Brandon McGaughey; & Erica Gayle; his great grandson: Trenton; his step mother: Virginia McGaughey of Middletown, Kentucky, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father: John McGaughey; his mother: Edith Gordon Hayes; his wife: Marie Bear McGaughey died: Nov. 8, 2001; his grandmother that raised him: Tish Gordon; his step father: Doc Hayes; his sister: Annette McNabb; his brother: Gayle McGaughey; his brothers in law: Robert L. “Bobby” Bear died: July 15, 2005; Gerald Bear in 1963; his nephew: Clinton Lee Bear died: June 23, 1992.


FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 1:00 pm, by Pastor Dave Noffsinger at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Dupont Cemetery, Dupont, Indiana.


VISITATION
Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm and Sunday from 12 Noon until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana.


MASONIC SERVICE
Masonic services will be conducted on Saturday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home, by: Dupont Masonic Lodge #419 F & AM.
