David Williams, 69, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, November 8th at Deaconess Hospital. He was born and raised in Lanesville, Indiana. After graduating from Indiana University, he moved to Evansville and started making good drugs. While working for Mead Johnson's as a research chemist, he enjoyed creating new drug formulations, playing chess, and the Old French Military games with his coworkers. He was the self-proclaimed Bobby Fisher of the game and rarely lost. After Mead Johnson's he moved on to his true passion, making gas. He made it like no other. Farm Bureau refinery in Mt. Vernon, Indiana was lucky to have his talents as a chief chemist for over 23 years.
Riding to work and working to ride was his creed and he enjoyed the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle whenever he could. If he wasn't riding, he was spending time with his family and friends or hanging out at the West Side Sportsman's Club where he was a lifetime member.
Surviving are his wife Debra Williams, his two sons Todd and Gary, their spouses, and seven grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to St. James West United Methodist Church where David was a member or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
