Betty Jean Workman, 92 of South Charleston, formerly of Peytona died June 21, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. She was a former postmaster at Peytona for over 17 years and was past Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Albans Chapter #79. She was a member of Charleston Baptist Temple. She was preceded in death by Husband: C.L. “Babe” Workman, Daughter: Linda Lowe, Son: Dale Workman, Parents: Kennie L. and Bessie Lee Carper Looney, Brothers: Robert and Ralph Looney and Sister: Mary Michael. Surviving Are: Daughters: Flavia White of Buckhannon, Sons: Archie Workman of Winter Haven, FL, Jimmy (Emma) Osborne of Houston, TX, Jerry (Iona) Osborne of Deltona, FL, Sister: Ella Mae White of Cross Lanes, 16 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday June 24, 2017 at Charleston Baptist Temple with Dr. Jim Hewitt and Dr. Gary Coffey officiating Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the Church. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.
