Dorothy F. Price, 74, a Dryden resident for over 50 years, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Cashmere Convalescent Center. She was born on May 13, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington to the late Clifford LeRoy and Florence Dorothy (Copeland) Gifford. As a young child she moved with her family to Ardenvoir and then later to Entiat. She was raised received her schooling and attended Entiat High School. She met and was married to Calvin White in the early 1960’s. They made their home together in Dryden. She went to work as a caregiver at Cashmere Convalescent Center. In the late 1960’s, she married Olen Hinkle and they continued to make their home in Dryden. Dorothy became an in-home healthcare provider and had clients in the Peshastin, Dryden and Cashmere areas. In the mid 1970’s, she was married to S. David Price and they continued to make their home in Dryden. She was preceded in death by her husband, S. David Price in 2001 and has remained in Dryden. Dorothy was a member of the Peshastin Assembly of God Church and the United Church of Christ in Peshastin. She especially enjoyed family and family gatherings as well as pictures and her frog collection. She is survived by six children, John C. White, Cashmere, Edward Miller, Lemoore, CA, Robert (Kathryn) Hinkle, Cashmere, Thomas Hinkle, Packwood, WA, Nolita MacLeod, East Wenatchee and Stanley (Ruth Church) Price, Wenatchee; three sisters, Sharon Jordan, Valiant, OK, Karen Reynolds, Naches, WA and Lois McKinney, Wenatchee; one brother, LeRoy Gifford, Entiat; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Rosemary White and two sisters, Joanne Gifford and an infant sister, Ruth Gifford. A Commemoration Service will be held on Wednesday, June 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Peshastin Assembly of God Church with Pastor Vern Watterud officiating.
