Lydia Ann Brubaker, 55, of 423 Brown Road, East Earl, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Born in Caernarvon Twp., she was a daughter of Menno M. and Martha E. (Kilmer) Shirk of East Earl. She was married 34 years on Dec. 23 to Melvin Z. Brubaker. She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Grove Mennonite Church. Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are five children, Loretta Brubaker at home, Clair married to Regina (Martin) Brubaker of Georgetown, OH, Lois Ann, married to Elam Newswanger of East Earl, Melvin Ray, married to Lucy Marie (Leid) Brubaker of Barnett, MO, and John Daniel, married to Norma (Zimmerman) Brubaker of East Earl; four grandsons, Weston Brubaker, Matthew Newswanger, Javon Brubaker, and Tristan Brubaker; three granddaughters, Marcille Brubaker, Martha Newswanger, and Hanna Newswanger; and 14 brothers and sisters, Clayton, married to Lydia (Reiff) Shirk of Delano, TN, Ada, married to Elias Martin of Latham, MO, Anna, married to James Zimmerman of Barnett, MO, Alvin, married to Rachel (Newswanger) Shirk of Latham, MO, Menno, married to Ruth (Eberly) Shirk of Latham, MO, Edwin, married to Annetta (Martin) Shirk of Chula, MO, Elam, married to Miriam (Martin) Shirk of Lublin, WI, Mahlon, married to Barbara (Martin) Shirk of Owen, WI, Wayne, married to Delores (Ramer) Shirk of Centertown, MO, Mabel, married to James Burkholder of Latham , MO, Martha, married to Lewis Newswanger of Fortuna, MO, Ben, married to Erma (Martin) Shirk of East Earl, Mervin, married to Rhoda (Zimmerman) Shirk of East Earl, and Linus, married to Ellen (Zimmerman) Shirk of Narvon. Preceding her in death is her oldest brother, David K. Shirk April 1, 1996. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26 at 9 am at the late home with further services at 9:30 am at Spring Grove Mennonite Church, 1343 Precast Road, East Earl, with the Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at her late home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
