Thomas L. Mountain, 90, of Wattsburg, passed away suddenly on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Erie on January 12, 1927 a son of the late Jess L. and Ann M. Richards Mountain. Thomas served in the United States Army during World War II in Italy with the 88th Blue Devil Division. He was a first sergeant in the Supply Division. He went on to become owner and operator of Mountain Speed Shop and Mountain Auto Supply on Buffalo Road. Most recently, he was owner and operator of the Erie County Airport with his wife, Joyce, for over 26 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Lawrence, and Arthur Mountain and two sisters, Mildred Leasure and Roberta Braendel. Survivors include his wife of over 67 years, Joyce I. Boyd Mountain; two sisters, Olive Antolik of Erie and Jessie Johannes of York,PA; and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
