Anna Jane McClellan, 90, Tipton went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday afternoon at UPMC Altoona She was born in Bellwood daughter of the late Claude C. and Edna Mae (Laird) Lewis. On November 12, 1946 she married Chester Raymond McClellan, Jr. in Winchester, Virginia and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1998. Surviving are two sons, Larry R. of South Carolina and Darren E. (Marlene) of Tipton; two daughters, Sonia J. (Dave J.) McCartney of Pinecroft and Patty A. Harris of Tipton; nine grandchildren; Christopher, Jennifer and Dylan McClellan, Bradley McNelis, Courtney Schmittle, Ashley Lease, Sean McCartney, Danielle Echeverria and Rachael Harris; 8 great-granchildren, Chase, Isabella, Jacob, Addison, Reygan, Anna, Ava and Jaxon; two brothers, Claude Lewis, Jr. of Bald Eagle and Carl Lewis of Water Street; and two sisters, Claudia Wilson of Huntingdon and Arlene Liddick of Bellwood. She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Jessica and Alicia; three sisters, Ellen Cushion, Martha Dubree and Dorothy Boytim; and four infant siblings. Anna Jane was a 1946 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She had worked as a waitress at DelGrosso’s Italian Pantry, Altoona and later at Marianna’s Fundraisers, Tipton. She was a member of Tipton United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Bellwood-Antis Community Choir and a former officer of Women of the Moose, Tyrone. Anna Jane volunteered her time at the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen, Tyrone. She was very crafty and talented and enjoyed making macramé hangers, silk floral arrangements, and also sewing and crocheting. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Friday June 23, 2017 and 10-11am Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday at the funeral home, Pastor Gloria Montgomery officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in her memory be made to Tipton United Methodist Church P.O. Box 116 Bellwood, PA 16617.
