Mary Marie Young, age 95, of Wadsworth, OH., went home to be with the Lord and peacefully passed away, on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at her residence. She was surrounded by those who adored her.
She was born on July 22, 1921 in Van Buren County, TN. to Walter Ray and Nora (Wallace) Measles.
She married Henry Rudolph Young on October 20, 1943 in Georgia. He went home to be with the Lord, on June 26, 2008.
She had moved to Wooster in 2001 before moving to the Wadsworth area in 2009. She was a member of Northside Christian Church in Wadsworth; was a member of the local teamster's union; an expert seamstress and an amazing cook and baker and as her family stated, was the perfect example of a Proverbs 31 woman.
She is survived by her daughter who was privileged to care for her until her passing Alma Linda (Jim) Thomas of Wadsworth, OH.; daughter-in-law, Melissa Young of Elgin , Ill.; 5 grandchildren, Fred (Jamie) Maibach, Carrie Young, Ed (Nikki) Maibach, Lizzie (Eric) Smith and Bryan Thomas ; 9 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ellie, Kendall, Emma, Eva, Aubrey, Avah, Evan and Eden; 2 step-great grandchildren, Nick and Noah; 2 brothers, J.V. Measles and Powell Measles both of Madison, OH.; and a dear cherished friend who was like a son, Mike Earliwine.
In addition to her parents and husband, she has now been reunited with her son, Ronnie Young; sisters, Alma, Audrey, Mildred and a brother, Albert.
A committal service will take place on Monday, June 26th, 12:45 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman with Chaplain Joseph Lee officiating.
It was her wishes there will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH. 44333.
The family wishes to thank all of our loving friends as well as the staff of both the Hospice Visiting Nurse Service and the Hospice Care Center in Copley for their special concern during Mary's stay.
