Joan Kowitski, 79, of Oceanport, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. She was born in Mount Carmel, PA and lived in Bridgewater for 40 years before moving to Oceanport 8 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church in Eatontown. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene William in January 21, 2017, her son, William in 1994; her parents, John and Anna Yano and brother, Mickey Yano. Surviving are her daughter, Karen and her husband Tom Macios; son, Joseph and his wife Karen Kowitski and 4 grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Jenna and Joseph and a sister, Annie Pristash. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 pm Sunday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral 8:30 am Monday from the funeral home followed by at 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Dorothea’s Church in Eatontown. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
