Benjamin Hernberg

Benjamin Ryan Hernberg, 30, died unexpectedly June 12, and is the beloved son of Lisa Pierce and Dr. Scott Hernberg (Sandra Wilkinson) and dear brother of Lori (Eric Parrs) and Matthew. He is survived by his loving grandmother Bernadette Pierce and Charles Pierce, aunts Kathleen Pierce, Rosemary (Marc Carsello), Mary Ellen Pierce, Eileen (Kenny Wilkins) and uncles Michael Pierce and Thomas Pierce (Jackie). He is also survived by cousins Alex Bornstein (Brett), Patrick Bornstein (Kelsey), Emma Carsello, Philip Bartilucci, Elizabeth Bartilucci, Rachel Pierce, and Sarah Pierce. Extended family includes Nicholas Wilkinson (Chelsea) and Brandon Wilkinson. He is predeceased by his grandparents Martin and Marilyn Hernberg and uncle Jay Hernberg. In addition to his family, Ben loved his many longtime friends, football, running, golf, surfing, his canine pals Jill and Dexter, and the 44th Street Beach in Ocean City, NJ, where he was a member of the Beach Patrol. Ben earned his BA in Biology from Stockton University and his Masters in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania. He was Senior Administrator of the Bioethics Department at the University of Pennsylvania. Ben knew how to enjoy life and was the king of condiments. He made food taste great again. Friends may commemorate and celebrate Ben’s life on Sunday, June 18th, from 2pm to 4pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atlantic County Humane Society in Benny’s name.
