Shiva Upadhyaya

Shiva P. Upadhyaya, 65, of Greeley, CO passed away May 31, 2017 in Aurora, CO. He was born May 6, 1952 in Bhojpur, Dingla, Nepal Ram Prasad and Rudra (Kumari) Bhurtel. Shiva grew up in Nepal and received his Master’s Degree from Mechi Campus Bhadrapur, Jhapa, Nepal. In 1982, in Kathmandu, Nepal, Shiva married Jandavi Dahal. In Nepal, Shiva was a politician and lawyer. After moving to the United States, he was a medical interpreter. Shiva was a member of Rocky Mountain Friends of Nepal, and was a practicing Hindu. Shiva love to travel the world, he would read anything, and loved to be with his family. He always encouraged Jandavi and his daughter’s in all they do in life. He is survived by his wife, Jandavi of Greeley; daughters, Shikha Bhurtel of Nepal, and Shitata (Zeshan) Bhurtal of Reno, NV; brothers, Ganesh (Padma) Bhurtel, Hari (Usha) Bhurtel, and Jugal (Sharmila) Bhurtel all of Nepal; sisters, Uma (Sanat) Regmi, and Urmila (Meghnath) Timilsina both of Nepal; mother, Rudra Kumari of Nepal; an many, many nieces and nephews. Shiva will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Shiva was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents. A Life Celebration Service will be held at 3:01 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at Adamson Life Celebration Home.
