Bruno DiCiucci

Our Dearly Beloved Husband and Father, Bruno Giulio Di Ciucci, also lovingly known to his grandchildren as “Nonno Bruno,” has peacefully departed this world on June 16, 2017, at the age of 94. Bruno a resident of Rocklin, CA, was born on December 13, 1922 in Oakland, CA to parents, Giulio Di Ciucci, of Pisa, Italy, and Attilia Di Cesare, of Porcari, Lucca, Italy. Bruno leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Ann Musso Di Ciucci, 88 of Rocklin; a daughter, Linda Steiner of Roseville; and a son, Steven Di Ciucci of Piedmont. Also, surviving are two grandchildren, Lisa Welborn (Stephen Welborn) of Oakland, and Michael Steiner of Sacramento; and one great-grandson, Jack Welborn, 15 months, of Oakland. In addition, Bruno leaves one sister, Dina Axtell, 93, of Salem, Oregon; a niece, four nephews, and several cousins in the USA and Italy. Preceding Bruno in death are his parents, Giulio and Attilia Di Ciucci; a sister Eva Kosich; and brothers-in-law John Kosich and Dwight Axtell. Following high school, Bruno served in WWII’s Army 3rd Signal Core Battalion from Jan 1943 thru Feb 1946 in South Korea and Hawaii as a Tech Sgt and teletype/radio repairman. This is where he acquired his technical skills which he carried throughout his lifelong 27-year career with the Telephone Company in Oakland and San Francisco as a telephone lineman, draftsman and engineer. Bruno married Betty Musso in 1950. In 1968, the family moved from Oakland to Moraga. After retiring from AT&T in 1973, Bruno & Betty relocated to Butte County where they built a house overlooking Lake Oroville. Bruno joined SIR’s of Oroville, played some golf, took trips to the casinos, and RV’d with friends. They happily resided in Oroville until 1989 when they moved to Rocklin to be near their daughter and grandchildren. The Di Ciucci’s celebrated many special occasions, attended many special events, and took several trips with their family over the years. Enough cannot be said of our husband, father and grandfather’s GENEROUS, CARING , PATIENT, AND KIND SPIRIT. He was a master Mr. Fix-It, a creative craftsman, and the most helpful of neighbors, willing to be of assistance to all on a moments notice. His family meant the world to him. Thank you Bruno, Dad and Nonno for all you did, all you gave, and all you meant to us. We will CHERISH OUR MEMORY OF YOU FOREVER. MAY YOUR WORK ON EARTH BE DONE, AND MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!!! Family and Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11am at Mt. View Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 5000 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA 94611 with a Reception immediately following in the Mausoleum Atrium. There will be a Visitation Viewing in Roseville, CA at Chapel of the Valley, 97 Vernon Street, Roseville, CA 95678 on Thursday, June 22nd from 6pm - 8pm for those unable to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday.
