In Loving Memory of Mr. Jerry Purdy 1937-2017 It is with great sadness that the family announces his death at home on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the age of 79 years. Loving partner of Cecile Wootton. Beloved father of Annette (James) Buchanan of North Bay, Claude (Sylvie) Purdy of Iroquois Falls and of the late Shawn Purdy. He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren; Brody and Cassandra. Jerry leaves his siblings Pat (Helen) Purdy of Iroquois Falls, Rose-Marie (Terry) Peever of Iroquois Falls, Pauline Purdy of Iroquois Falls, Mike (Rachel) Chapelsky of Iroquois Falls, Mona (Mark) Liznick of Monteith and Theresa Berlinghoff of Alberta. He is also survived by his daughter in law Josée Purdy of Val Gagné, his sisters in law Jane Purdy of Timmins and Rita Shirley of Iroquois Falls as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jerry was predeceased by his son Shawn, his brothers Denis, Garry, Raymond, and Daniel, and his sister Lillian and his parents Edgar and Yvette Purdy. Family and friends may call at Abitibi Funeral Services on Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 from 7:00 p.m – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, February 9th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Father Léo Rancourt presiding.
