Blanche Oakey

Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Center at Harbour Breton on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, Mrs. Blanche Sarah Oakey, age 89 of St. Jacques. Leaving to mourn her loving family: sons, Calvin (Maxine) at St. John’s, Aloysius at St. Jacques with whom she resided and Claude (Donna) at Gander; daughter, Brenda (Allan) at Alberta; grandchildren, Bruce Poole (Jessie Ann), Sharon Dodge (Bruce), Nancy Keeping (Fred), Barry Poole, Travis Poole (Kim), Ashley Oakey (Erica), Melissa Collville (Amos) and Claudia Oakey; great grandchildren, Cameron Dodge, Ava Dodge, Evan Keeping, Bella, Abigail Stuckless, Bryceson Collville, Chantel Piercey, Alyssa Poole, Jack Poole, Douglas Dominix, Starla Quirk and Devon Oakey; brother, Jim Hynes (Dorothy) at Grand Falls-Windsor; great great grandson, Corwin Dominix; sister, Catherine Evans at St. Jacques; plus a large number of other relatives and friends Predeceased by her husband, George Oakey, and daughter, Audrey Poole. Funeral Service was held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 12:30 pm from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church at St. Jacques with Father David Joy officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Jacques. Special thanks to Sharon Dodge, her granddaughter, for caring for her and many thanks to the Staff at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Center, Harbour Breton, for their compassionate care.
