Obituary for Lois Terese Kelly (Hennessey)

Lois Terese Kelly, 69, of Marion, died Thursday, February 1, 2007, in Mercy Medical Center, following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, by Rev. John Gossman. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Friends may call Sunday, February 4, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30p.m.
Survivors include two sons, David (Paula Nick) Kelly of Oklahoma and Brian (Charlene) Kelly of Marion; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole, Destiny, Madisyn, Brooke, James and Nick; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Kylie, Amiee, Brianna, Bud and Chelsie.
Also surviving are a brother, Darrell (Joanne) Hennessey of Marion; and two sisters, Sharon (Robert) Hey of Texas and Wanda Alderman of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James and a sister, Patricia.
Lois was born the daughter of Earl and Mary (Cashman) Hennessey on April 12, 1937, in rural Anamosa. She attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids. On October 17, 1959, she was united in marriage to James Kelly at St Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. He died July 2, 1989. Lois was employed at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids for over thirty years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.
Lois enjoyed painting and crocheting and loved being a grandma.A memorial fund has been established in Lois’ memory.
