ADRIENNE M. PARENT

LEWISBURG, PA & VAN BUREN---Adrienne M. Parent, 83, died Aug. 16, 2011 following a short illness. She was born in St. Francis, New Brunswick, Canada Aug. 7, 1928, the daughter of Evence and Ida (Cyr) Albert.
Adrienne was a graduate of Teacher’s College in Fredericton, N.B., Canada and the University of Maine at Orono. She passionately taught school for 32 years in New Brunswick and Van Buren, Maine and was especially fond of the years spent teaching French. Adrienne was a gentle, generous soul who touched many people’s hearts during her lifetime. Adrienne was active in the Friends of the Library at the AJ Morneault Library in Van Buren, the Van Buren Columbiettes, Daughters of Isabella and also at the parish level with Mercy Meals Committee. Her recent relocation to Lewisburg allowed Adrienne to become involved with the Caring Community at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Lewisburg.
She is survived by a sister Viola Nicholson of Tucson, Arizona; two children, daughter Lisa Folker and her husband Joseph of Lewisburg, PA and son Philip Parent and his wife Denise of Colchester, CT; six loving grandchildren, Christin and Melissa Folker and Matthew, Joshua, Keith and Ross Parent; and a special sister-in-law Florine Sirois of West Hartford, CT. Adrienne was predeceased by her loving husband Reno Parent, by infant daughter Elizabeth and three brothers, Hermile, Normand and Rino Albert.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, Sept. 9 at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery.
