Obituary for Jody Lynn Squires

Jody Lynn Squires, 36, of Center Point, went to be with Jesus, following a courageous battle with leukemia on Tuesday, June 21, 2005, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2005, at Center Point United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Rick Gail. Friends may call at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point from 5-8 p.m. today (Thursday). Burial: Lafayette Cemetery, rural Alburnett.

Survivors include her daughter, Emily Morrison of Alburnett; her parents, Everett and Darlene Squires of Center Point; a sister, Julie (Richard) Bos of Shellsburg; two brothers, Jeff (Cindy) Squires and Jerry (Robin) Squires, all of Center Point; her grandmother, Elsie Sanders of Palo; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Melvin and Amy Squires and Jay Sanders.

She was born March 13, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, to Everett Lee and Darlene Fae Sanders Squires. Jody worked in the postal department for PSI and also worked for Hunter Specialties, Worley Warehouse and Federal Express. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Cedar Rapids and had attended Center Point United Methodist Church. Jody loved horses, was an excellent artist, and was an avid Vikings fan. She loved God very much and enjoyed her Mission trip to Dream Center in Los Angeles. She was very loved by those who knew her and will be greatly missed.

A memorial fund has been established for her daughter, Emily.
