Obituary for Helen M. Osbourn

Helen M. Osbourn, 101, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006 in Loveland.She was born to John and Elizabeth D. (Brockman) McCabe on February, 24, 1905 in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Fairmont High School in Fairmont, NE. She attended the University of Wyoming. She was married to Bryce M. Osbourn on February 17, 1928 in Laramie, WY.She and her husband were in the restaurant business for 20 years. She was a resident of Fort Morgan from 1942 to 1952. She moved to Greeley and lived there from 1952 1964. She moved to Loveland in 1964. She was a homemaker and when she moved to Loveland she opened the Mode O'Day Store.She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and one of the first members of the Chilson Senior Center. She was a wonderful gardener and had a love of family, church work and volunteering in her community. She is survived by her son, Neil Osbourn (Nora) of Collinsville, CT; daughter, Meredith Smith (Vernon) of Arvada, CO; sister, Mary Maxine McCabe, BVM, of Dubuque, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Michael V. Smith and Mary K. Smith of Denver, CO, Tim B. Smith (Amy) of Loveland, CO, and Monique McDonald of New York City, NY; 2 great-grandchildren, Caleb B. and Caitlynn M. Smith of Loveland, CO.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Emmett, Edward, Leo, Henry, and Maurice McCabe; sisters, Gabriella and Edna McCabe, and Agnes Llewellyn. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m., Sunday, April 2 at Allnutt Hunter Chapel.Recitation of the Rosary at 10 a.m., Monday, April 3 at St. John's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 3 at St. John's Catholic Church.Memorial contributions may be made to the Volunteers of America in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
