Condolence: Donna---I just learned today about Paul and wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you. As I told you at the Post Office a few weeks ago, I haven't seen Paul for years... but I can smile fondly remembering "the muffin man" at CSU rugby games. Hope you'll embrace all the good memories and find peace soon.

Condolence: Donna and Kelly: The leadership of your father was infectious to NCOs and Officers alike, and his wisdom molded each of us in a unique way. He was different, and his example reflected that uniqueness. He left us with a special form of courage that believed in standing up for what was right for the greater good of all. His unselfishness to "the team" was a hallmark, and his wisdom,... always a common denomiator. More importantly, Paul has passed on a torch, his legacy, to light our way and sustain us as we continue to strive for the best that we can be in all that we do. Paul has shaped countless lives as a warrior, a brother, and a friend. His parting will be greatly missed, but rememebred by all. My deepest condolences and profound respect. Pat Stevens Yorktown, VA

Condolence: Donna and Kelly, Please accept my most sincere condolences at this difficult time. Paul was one of the finest people who I have had the pleasure of knowing. It was always a joy to be with him, no matter the circumstances. He had the unusual ability to remain focused on the mission and maintain his concern for everyone involved. He entertained, socialized, and educated in the same breath. We are all better off for knowing him and having shared our lives with a person of such character. We have lost one of our great soldiers and he will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace and I wish the best for both of you.

Condolence: What an honor to serve, drink, fight, laugh and cry with Pual for 20 years. There are very few men whose mere example challenges us to become more than we are, in order to be more like them. Kelly, your father helped me to understand the meaning of words like Courage, Honor, Love and Hope. I pray you feel those from him now. Donna, thank you for all the caring and breakfasts you gave us before kicking us out into the harsh sunlight so we'd serve our nation reasonably on time, if not in sound mind. Know that you are in the hearts of so many of Paul's comrades, and the affection and respect we have for you is unaffected by space or time. To Paul's friends, family, fellow players and warriors, how truly fortunate we are to have known this man. As for Paul, I'm sure he's giving Saint Peter an earful about the bureaucratic forms and procedures for getting into heaven...

Condolence: Paul Ireland was an outstanding soldier, a friend, a mentor, and a superb role model. His very untimely passing reflects that his life was undeservedly marked by major cataclysm's - losing his marraige, his son, and now his life (way too soon). As a newly commissioned officer, I was entrusted with responsibilities way beyond that normally thrust upon a Second Lieutenant - as a senior non-commissioned officer, Paul was very patient in guiding me to correct decisions. The rest of my career was and continues to be profoundly influenced by his mentorship. The full time National Guard team we were part of in the mid-1980s was truly a remarkable one and Paul Ireland was one of the most steady influences to make it work. While I will miss his humor, wisdom, and leadership, his influence lives on in the thousands of people who knew, respected, and loved him Rest in Peace Paul, Respectfully, Jim Kish

Condolence: I didn't know Paul was ill; wish I could have made one last visit even though it has been so long since I have seen anyone. Paul stays vivid in my memory, -- no offense to the others but Paul was ALWAYS my favourite coach. The grin was irresistible and I remember his surprise when he found out I could play. My thoughts go to everyone close to him.

Condolence: Donna and Kelly, Kenny and I send our deepest sympathy to you both. It's really hard to express one's self at this time. We enjoyed our visit with Paul when we were at JR's house. He had such a positive outlook on the illness he was dealing with. He sure liked that "Frog Eye Salad", he said he could the whole bowl. We both have so many fond memories of times with Paul. Many thoughts go out to you both and Pauls family at this time. Jane Dahley and Kenny Hines

Condolence: Paul, a person can only count a small number of people as "best friends". You are at the top of that short list for me. We have not laughed a lot lately, but I know that you are in a place now laughing til your cheeks hurt. Of all my memories, I will always remember you as the only person that could make me laugh until I couldn't breathe. Love ya buddy, J.R.
