Eunice M.  Samoska (Wheeler)
AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Eunice M. (Wheeler) Samoska age 86 of Thomaston passed away peacefully July 11, 2011 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of William B. Samoska.

Eunice was born January 8, 1925 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late William R. and Marion (Britton) Wheeler and lived in Thomaston for the past 40 years. She was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. Prior to her retirement Eunice worked at the former Thomaston Special Products for several years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, drawing and hand crafting decorative dolls. Eunice was an avid New York Yankee fan and was alive for 26 of the teams 27 World Series Championships. She and her late husband devoted many years as foster parents for both boys and girls who were in need of a loving home.

She leaves two daughters Marion Samoska of Thomaston, Tina Allen and her husband James of Thomaston, two grandchildren Ryan Rogozinski and his wife Noungning of Forestville, Samantha Amodeo of Thomaston, two sisters Muriel Samoska of Oakville, Barbara Wheeler of Thomaston, and was anxiously awaiting the birth of her great grandson Ivan William Rogozinski. She was predeceased by a sister Arlene Brightman.

Funeral services and burial are private and at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. The O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville has been entrusted with arrangements.
