DELMAR - Nancy M. Farr died suddenly on Monday, May 30, 2011 at her residence in Delmar. Nancy was born on August 9, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan and spent most of her adult life in Delmar.

Nancy was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School and she was a 1961 graduate of Russell Sage College. Following graduation she worked for several years as a Research Laboratory Assistant at the New York State Department of Education.

Nancy was very accomplished at knitting and she especially enjoyed knitting clothes for her extensive doll collection. She also enjoyed celebrating the holidays and listening to music, especially her Elvis Presley collection. She also volunteered recently as a "grandma storyteller" at the Glenmont Elementary School.

Predeceased by her parents, Kenneth M. Farr and Florence K. Farr, Nancy leaves one first cousin, Bobbie S. Lehigh, who lives in Edwards, New York.

Nancy will be missed by her many friends.

A funeral service will held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10 AM at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make a donation to the Delmar Fire Department Rescue Squad, 145 Adams Street, Delmar, NY 12054.
