A year later he joined the 101st Airborne Paratroopers and proudly served his country. In 1981, after almost 20 years apart, he reunited with his childhood friend, Shirley Dianetti. They were married, and Jim then became an instant father of 3. He helped to raise his new daughters, eight grandchildren, and has been an active role in raising his great grandchild, Riley Ammon. The last few years of his life have been dedicated to building and opening a new restaurant, Pita Paradise in Lake Havasu City. “Papa” was very excited about opening the restaurant and looked forward to bringing “Main Street” back to life.
