Margaret George Swindell, age 92 of Montevallo, AL passed away on April 13, 2011. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Calera, AL. She lived her life completely devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and training unions at various churches in the Birmingham area for over 50 years. She was a constant prayer warrior and her love for the Lord and fervor for life was contagious to everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Swindell, Sr., her son, Robert David Swindell, Jr., her brothers, Lawrence George and Charles "Pete" George, and her sisters, Johnnie Shepherd and Inez Pate. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Joan Pointer and her husband, Milton; son, Timothy George Swindell; grandchildren, Kevin Colburn (Cheryl), Kirk Colburn (Michelle), Joe Ost (Phyllis), Jana Kelly (Jim), Katrina Brown (Keith), Jennet Ward (Scott), Milt Pointer (Mary Jane) and Marsha Hatfield (Ken); 14 great grandchildren and known as "Grandmother" to most everyone whose lives she touched. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 1 to 2PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Jerry East and Rev. Keith Brown will be officiating over the services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
