Mr. Huey Victor Lewis, 63, of Cartersville, went home to be with his Lord Monday, May 12, 2008. Born November 14, 1944 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Conner Lewis and the late Lois Ireene Alsobrook. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Lee Lewis and Stephen Lewis.

Huey retired from Lockheed in December 1999 after 36 years of service as an electronics inspector. He enjoyed fishing, camping, motorcycles, NASCAR, and spending time with his family, especially his wife of 46 years, Martha Thacker Lewis. In his younger years, Huey attended Peeples Valley Community Church and most recently attended The Church at Liberty Square. He was also known to have a deep, strong faith by those who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Thacker Lewis of Cartersville; his daughter, Michelle Lewis of Rockmart; his son, Brian Lewis of Cartersville; his sister-in-law, Greta Lewis; and his cousins, Irene and Larry Hufstetler of Cartersville and Linda and Don Shinall of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, and many extended family members.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Joe Edwards and Rev. Larry Hufstetler officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Huey's nephews will serve as pallbearers and are asked to be at the funeral home at 10:15.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
