Obituary for Eugene M. "Dutch" Lockwood

Eugene “Dutch” Lockwood, age 83, of Beaver Dam, died Friday, December 24, 2010 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

At his request, there will be no formal services.

Eugene was born on March 31, 1927 in Lowell, Wisconsin to the late Fred and Hattie (Possum) Lockwood. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was stationed in Hawaii. In 1951, Dutch was united in marriage with Gloria Vogel in Beaver Dam. He retired from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections where he worked as a prison guard and he enjoyed the many years he spent racing on local tracks.

Dutch is survived by his son, Jeff Lockwood of Fond du Lac, his nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, Fred, Edwin and Carl Lockwood, and his four sisters, Dorothy Lockwood, Norma Anderson, Shirley Wolfgang, and Rosella Jargoske.
