Obituary for Ana Reyes (Cuevas)

Ana  Reyes (Cuevas)
WATERBURY; Mrs. Ana (Cuevas) Reyes, 86 of Waterbury passed away Saturday November 13, 2010 at Saint Mary’s Hospital among her loving family. She was the widow of Herminio Reyes who passed away October 31, 1990 after 50 years of marriage.

Mrs. Reyes was born November 4, 1924 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico a daughter of the late Lola Justinano and Demencio Cuevas. She moved to New York with her husband and children in 1955 and has been a Waterbury resident since 1961. She worked for many years at La Casa Bienvenida.

She leaves behind five daughters, Eneida Betancourt, Iris Gonzalez, Anna Figueroa, Mildred Pena and Leslie Cody, four sons, Alvin, Wilfredo, Richard and Harry Reyes. She also leaves Ada Olga Aviles and Ada Wilda Aviles who were also like her daughters. She also leaves her brother Eddie Cuevas, 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.


Funeral services for Mrs. Reyes will be held Wednesday November 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue to Saints Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Road in Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Burial will follow in All Saint’s Cemetery in Waterbury.
