Obituary for Phyllis Rose Kirsche

Phyllis Rose Kirsche
Phyllis (Rose) Kirsche, of Wethersfield passed from this earth on Sunday, (May 27, 2007) in the presence of her entire loving family. She was the beloved wife of fifty-five years to William Joseph Kirsche. Born in Hartford on February 1, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Dorothy (Lawler) Rose. She was the loved mother of Stephen Andrew Kirsche, Sr. and his wife Martha of Wethersfield; daughter Daria Kirsche Perrone and her husband Michael of Joppa, MD; Elizabeth Anne Habesch and her husband Najib of Wethersfield and Kathryn Kirsche Dwyer of Wethersfield. She is also survived by her sister Patricia D'Amato and sister-in-law, Rodell Macfarlane both of Wethersfield. She has eleven grandchildren to whom she is "Nene": Michael Joseph Perrone, Jr., Stephen Andrew Kirsche, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Melissa Kirsche Albright and her husband Brandon, David Joseph Helton, Kristen Perrone Whipp and her husband James, Rebecca Anne Kirsche and her fiancé Stephen Weaver, Matthew William Perrone and his fiancée Cory Ferrari, Laura Macfarlane Kirsche, Alexandra Elizabeth Habesch, William Octave Habesch, and Victoria Rose Dwyer. She also is survived by four great grandchildren: Mackenzie Elizabeth Helton, Olivia Katherine Whipp, Abigail Lynn Albright and Natalie Rose Whipp, her nieces Tami D'Amato, Lisa Hudson and her husband Bruce, her nephew Patrick D'Amato and his wife Margaret as well as her very special friend Florence Roski whom she has been best friends with for fifty-five years. For many years Phyllis worked for the Hartford Courant's Scholastic Art Award Program, She also has a long career at Sage-Allen where her paycheck was never enough to pay for the things she bought her children and grandchildren. She was a regular donor for the Red Cross where she donated as often as possible. For many years Phyllis and Bill enjoyed summering on Lake Hayward and in later years on the "Poverty Island" in Mystic where friends and family would always gather. Phyllis always spoke of losing her best friend Valerie Nogas at age nine in the great Hartford circus fire. Phyllis' passions in life were her family, the theater and dancing. She enjoyed nights out with her "Silver Fox" friends. The funeral is Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends TODAY from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hartford Association for retarded Citizens (HARC), 900 Asylum Ave., Hartford 06105. This charity helps families with people with intellectual disability and was closest to Phyllis' heart because one of her grandchildren also has special needs, and her devotion to and special love for Alex was inspirational to the entire family.
