Susan Anne MacArthur, 60, of Glastonbury, beloved wife for 38 years of Hugh Duncan MacArthur, passed away peacefully Thursday (May 8, 2008), at home with her family by her side. She was born July 9, 1947 in New Haven and was the daughter of the late James and Anne (O'Brien) McKeon. She was a graduate of Hamden Hall Country Day School and Pine Manor College. The Wethersfield Board of Education employed Susan for over 20 years. In her leisure time she enjoyed golf, bridge, reading, traveling and especially spending time with her grandson, Owen James MacArthur. In addition to her loving husband, Susan is survived by her children and their spouses: Sean and Wendy MacArthur of Sharon, MA and Mimi and Brandon Maio of San Francisco, CA. Her family also includes her sisters: Patricia Donohue, husband John and daughter Hannah of Madison and Marianne Lucy, husband Donald and sons James and Christopher of Greenwich. Susan loved so many and in turn was loved by so many. Special thanks are extended to all the doctors and visiting nurses who provided heartfelt kindness and excellent care. Susan leaves a wonderful legacy of caring, selflessness and generosity for which she will be forever remembered. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday May 13, at 12 noon at St. Paul's Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Monday May 12 from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield.
