Tara Ruth Birdyshaw, 39 of Vestavia passed away on August 1, 2010. Tara was self employed in Fashion Sales. She loved skiing, winter sports, cruising and traveling. She was “Our Little Miss” for Jefferson County and Most Photogenic in the Alabama State Competition. She was preceded in death by her half brother, Dane Birdyshaw; her grandparents, Ruth and G.P. Garrett and Jean and Willard Birdyshaw. Survivors include her mother, Jan Birdyshaw; Long time fatherly mentor, David Simmons; father, George Birdyshaw and wife, Teresa; Caring, dedicated and very best friend, Dr. Richard Ellis; Lifelong and special friend, Tonie Taylor Short; Brotherly figure, Michael Simmons and loving extended friends and family, John Simmons, Mark Simmons (Katy and Suzie J.), Tiffany Simmons Tanner and Leslie Simmons King. Lifelong true friends, Mary, Bobby, Robin and Robert Long. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Trussville. Chapel services will be held on Thursday, August 5 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
