Helen M. McGhee, age 71 of 66 Pew Road, Mercer, (Jefferson Twp.) passed away at 7:30 am on Friday, december 26, 2008 at her residence following a period of failing health.



She was born in Fredonia, PA. on October 1, 1937 a daughter of the late William and Margaret Lucille (Lees) Clinefelter. On October 14, 1956 she married John E. McGhee who survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fredonia United Methodist Church. Helen enjoyed Bowling, playing cards in the card clubs that she belonged, camping and listening to bluegrass music.



In addition to her husband of 52 years she is survived by two sons; Timothy R. McGhee and his wife Patricia of Greenville and Terry R. McGhee and his wife Ellen of North Carolina, 2 daughters; Cynthia M. Reynolds and her husband Tim of Mercer and Cathy S. Ringer and her husband John of Fredonia. 1 sister – Mae Flinn and her husband Robert of Transfer, two brothers; Glenn Clinefelter and his wife Faye of South Carolina and Robert Clinefelter and his wife Marilee of Arizona. 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Betty Craig and a brother William Clinefelter.



Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home, Ltd. 169 Second Street, Fredonia with the Rev. Eric Peters, pastor of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at the Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
