Obituary for Margaret I. Geegh

Margaret I. Geegh, age 97, died peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the Inn of Freedom Village in Holland, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Annie Geegh and her brothers and sisters: Maude Dogger, Mary Geegh, Elwood Geegh, Orson Geegh, Marvin Geegh and Raymond Geegh. Margaret obtained graduate degrees from the University of Michigan and the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She taught Bible in the Virginia public schools during World War II. She worked as a librarian for many years at the Grand Rapids Public Library and also volunteered at the Voight House in Grand Rapids and the Baker Museum in Holland.

She is survived by her nephews and nieces and their families:
Wilson Geegh of Belleview WA
Mary and John Missad of Grand Rapids
Ruth and Marvin Piersma of Grand Haven
William Dow of Holland
Lois and Robert Hardesty of Grand Rapids
Marcy Zastrow of Wausau WI

Margaret’s family wishes to give special thanks for the wonderful care provided by the staff of Freedom Village and Hospice of Holland.

At Margaret’s request no memorial services are planned. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or the Mother Geegh Nursery School in Madanpalle, South India c/o Linn Gann P.O. Box 8445 Holland MI 49422.
